home tour

We are moving in and now have our limited internet.  We became so spoiled with cable internet.  It wasn't until now that I realized that we were actually using between 3 and 4 GBs a day.  Now we will be limited to 5 a MONTH.

We are almost finished cleaning out the old house.  I have to go back and let the carpet cleaner in.  We had so much help on moving day it was amazing.  Even in the rain, we had more than 10 adults and teens and several "helpers" under 10 too.

But this is where we live now.  It is so nice, I just don't know what we did right.

From the road.
The boys are looking forward to mowing
with the cool riding mower.

The driveway takes you to the back of the house.

Then to the side of the house,
but you are facing the road again

Then finally to the front.

the front of my new home
from the front you can go into my secret garden area

you cross a bridge to get there

This circle of trees and garden used to be moated in.
This is where the fruit trees are.
Rebecca and Joshua's new house.
It even has a bunk inside.

The chicken's house.  It will have to be excavated...

..as well as the goat's house.
I haven't even gotten back here yet;
too many stinging nettles right now.

This is the 50x50 foot fenced garden area.
It too will have to be given attention before planting time.
(this is on the left side of the driveway as you come in.)

It was designed by the owner so it definitely has its quirks.
such as the huge false wall for the electronics.
I would prefer bookshelves.

Some other quirks we have discovered thus far:  The bathrooms do not have any drawers or medicine cabinets, yet each is equipped with a phone jack.  ...priorities.

Jonny, in his optimistic way, is sure this is just going to ruin us financially.  I, on the other hand, think that whether we live here a year or never move again (my hope), this will be good for us.

We went to the Star Wars Exibit at the Pacific Science Center. First we saw the dinosours

Then we hung around the 3D IMAX lobby waiting for our turn to enter the exibit

Then we got to see all the fun constumes and models

random news

Before her hair cut

And after

Rebecca went and chopped her hair off. Now it is practically a mullet.

AARRGGGHH!!!!

Isaac made a pretty cool foil boat.

All his own design. I did some minimal help with the rigging.
In other news, Joshua thinks he is big enough to start crawling. He can also push himself from his belly into a sitting position. Now I really have to make sure the legos are off the floor.
For about 9 years I have put the kid's hand prints on a Christmas tree skirt. We finally filled one and have begun on the second. When babies are involved I usually strip them so that they don't get paint on their clothing. I never thought I should have to worry about my clothing though-- Thank you Joshua!! 5 sets of hand prints take up a lot of space. Maybe I should think up a new tradition.
Well, I better get going for now.

Some Joshua Pictures

Just for fun

OK, so he is teething and slobbery...
And rather blurry,
But he is still pretty cute.
