I am loving Whidbey Island; It is just so beautiful. Last Saturday we went exploring around the island. As we were driving along Crescent Harbor Jonny noticed a whale just off shore. (Jonny has an ability to notice what is happening around him while looking straight ahead. He usually drives while I take in the scenery, but he is the one who sees the fun stuff. He must have eyes on the sides of his head.) He quickly pulled over and we walked out to the beach. We were able to watch two whales swim and play for about ten minutes before they swam further out. On the way home, we saw three bald eagles flying overhead. It is just a beautiful area.
On Thursday we went to Bremerton to go to the dentist. Yes, quite the trip just for dental appointments, but Jonny likes this guy. We first began going to Dr. Burson when I worked for the dental lab in Silverdale before Steven was born. Dental labs get an interesting inside look at various local dentists and can easily recognize the good ones. Dr. Burson was one of the best. Jonny quickly trusted him when he told Jonny that he in fact did not need all the dental work our previous dentist had suggested. So we have stuck with him. Even when we were living in Arizona we made dental appointments with Dr. Burson on our Washington visits, at least for Jonny and I. The kids did see some Arizona dentists.
So we managed to get the whole family in on Thursday. We took the Port Townsend Ferry over to the Peninsula. It is one of the smallest ferries running and just a fun trip. We drove past our old house which is for sale again, and ate at Tom's Teriyaki, our old favorite food place. We didn't get to visit anyone or see too much though. The day was already long and we had to make it back home again. Hopefully we will make it over again for the Arms Forces Day parade next month. The kids are supposed to march with the CAR (Children of the American Revolution) for that one.

It's Official
Well, my appeal was denied. I am officially kicked out of school for residing in the wrong state. I received no further explanation other than the BS Education program was restricted in Washington. Now I get to go through the hassle of exit interviews, loan paybacks, and applying to new schools. And I was so close.
At least it is a beautiful spring.
It will work itself out somehow.

Happy Easter
Happy Easter everyone.
I love conference time. I love to be inspired as I listen to the talks. Of course I had to make cinnamon rolls. When I was small, we could only hear General Conference on the broadband radio. Mom used to make cinnamon rolls while we listened to the broadcast. She probably only did this a few times, but I remember it and I instinctively start thinking cinnamon rolls during conference. And since I love to bake sweet things...
The tulips and daffodils are in bloom. Spring has arrived and I am getting ready to plant. I love this time of year.
